Low Voltage/DVR Services
Low voltage cabling, CCTV and DVR/NVR surveillance, access control, and structured wiring — designed and installed by senior technicians for offices, retail, warehouses, and multi-site businesses.
01 — Approach
How we engage.
- CCTV & video surveillance — IP camera systems with NVR or DVR recording, remote viewing, and the camera placement, lensing, and lighting that actually produce footage you can use in an incident.
- DVR / NVR systems — recorder selection, storage sizing for your retention requirements, RAID redundancy, and secure remote access that will not become your next breach.
- Structured cabling — CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic data cabling, certified and tested, with clean labelled terminations and a documented cable map.
- Access control — key-card, fob, mobile, and biometric door access, with audit logging, scheduling, and integration to your alarm and video systems.
- Network infrastructure cabling — server rooms, IDF/MDF closets, patch panels, PoE switching, and the backbone that everything else rides on.
- Wi-Fi cabling & access point installation — proper AP placement and cabling for reliable coverage across offices, warehouses, and outdoor areas.
- Audio/visual & paging — conference rooms, digital signage, intercom, and overhead paging cabled and commissioned to work the first time.
- Multi-site & new-construction projects — design-build from blueprints, coordinated with general contractors, delivered to spec and on schedule.
- Senior technicians, not a day-rate crew. The person designing your system installs it and stands behind it. Workmanship you do not have to redo in two years.
- Footage you can actually use. Most CCTV disappoints because of bad placement, wrong lenses, or poor lighting — not bad cameras. We design for usable footage at the angles and distances that matter.
- Certified, documented cabling. Every run is tested, certified, labelled, and mapped. When something needs work later, your team (or ours) is not guessing in a closet.
- Secure by design. DVR/NVR and IP cameras are a notorious breach vector. We segment them onto their own VLAN, change default credentials, and lock down remote access — security cameras that do not become a security hole.
- Vendor-agnostic. Hikvision, Axis, Ubiquiti, Avigilon, Verkada — we recommend by fit and budget, not by distributor margin. No box-shifting.
- One team for the whole stack. Cabling, cameras, access control, and the network behind them — designed together so they actually work together, backed by our networking practice.
- Stay-on support. Most clients keep us on for maintenance, additions, footage retrieval help, and the occasional camera that needs a senior hand.
- Cabling: CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, fiber optic (single and multimode), coax for HD-over-coax, terminated and certified to TIA/EIA standards.
- Cameras: Hikvision, Dahua, Axis, Avigilon, Verkada, Ubiquiti UniFi Protect — dome, bullet, turret, PTZ, and specialty (LPR, thermal).
- Recording: NVR, DVR, and hybrid recorders; RAID and redundant storage; cloud and on-prem retention.
- Access control: key-card and fob systems, mobile credentials, biometric readers, and cloud-managed door control.
- Network: PoE and PoE+ switching, managed switches, VLAN segmentation for camera and IoT isolation.
- Wireless & AV: Wi-Fi access points, digital signage, intercom, and overhead paging.
- Camera / DVR installation — from $2.5k for a small system; scaled by camera count, recorder, and cabling distance. Survey, install, configuration, and walkthrough included.
- Structured cabling project — priced per drop, typically $150–$300 per certified run depending on distance and difficulty.
- Access control installation — from $1.5k per door including reader, controller, and configuration.
- Design-build / new construction — fixed-bid from blueprints, coordinated with your GC.
- Maintenance & support — annual agreement or on-call, covering service, additions, and footage assistance.

04 — Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a security camera / DVR system cost to install?
A small business camera system starts around $2,500 installed, and scales with camera count, recorder type, storage retention, and cabling distance. A typical 8–16 camera commercial system runs $6,000–$20,000 including cabling, NVR or DVR, configuration, and a walkthrough. We quote a fixed price after a site survey — no vague "depends what we find" pricing.
Should I get a DVR or an NVR system?
For almost every new install, NVR with IP cameras is the better choice — higher resolution, single-cable PoE, smart analytics, and easy expansion. A DVR with HD-over-coax cameras makes sense when you are reusing existing coax runs and want better cameras without re-cabling the building. Hybrid recorders bridge the two for phased upgrades. We will tell you which actually saves money for your specific building.
Why does my existing CCTV footage look useless when I need it?
Almost always, it is placement, lensing, or lighting — not the cameras. Cameras mounted too high, aimed wrong, or fighting backlight produce footage you cannot use in an incident. We design for usable footage at the angles and distances that matter — faces at doorways, plates at gates, full coverage with no blind spots — and we review every camera on screen before we call it done.
Are IP cameras and DVRs a security risk on our network?
They can be — DVR/NVR and IP cameras are a notorious breach vector when installed carelessly with default passwords and open remote access. We install them the right way: segmented onto their own VLAN, default credentials changed, firmware updated, and remote access locked down. Security cameras should not become a security hole, and ours do not.
Do you do the network cabling as well as the cameras?
Yes — structured cabling is a core service. CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic data cabling, certified and tested to TIA/EIA standards, with clean labelled terminations and a documented cable map. Doing the cabling, cameras, access control, and network together means they actually work together — backed by our networking practice.
Can you install access control / key-card door systems too?
Yes. We install key-card, fob, mobile-credential, and biometric door access from around $1,500 per door including reader, controller, and configuration — with audit logging, schedules, and integration to your camera and alarm systems. Cloud-managed options let you grant and revoke access from anywhere.
Can you handle a new-construction or multi-site project?
Yes. We do design-build from blueprints, coordinate with your general contractor and other trades, and roll out standardised cabling, camera, and access-control designs across multiple sites so every location is consistent. Rough-in happens at the right construction phase, and we deliver to spec and on schedule.
Do you offer maintenance and support after installation?
Yes. Most clients keep us on an annual maintenance agreement or on-call support covering service calls, camera additions as the business grows, footage-retrieval assistance, and firmware updates that keep the system secure. We built it, we documented it, and we keep it working.
