VoIP Phones
Cloud VoIP phone systems, hosted PBX, and unified communications — deployed, ported, and supported by senior engineers. Crystal-clear calls, no dropped numbers, no on-prem hardware to babysit.
01 — Approach
How we engage.
- Cloud VoIP & hosted PBX — fully-managed phone systems on RingCentral, 3CX, Microsoft Teams Phone, Zoom Phone, or Twilio — no on-prem hardware to maintain.
- SIP trunking — connecting your existing PBX to the cloud, cutting per-line costs and adding capacity that scales on demand.
- Number porting — moving your existing business numbers to the new system with zero downtime, so customers never reach a dead line.
- Unified communications (UCaaS) — voice, video, messaging, and presence in one platform, integrated with Microsoft Teams, Slack, or Google Workspace.
- Contact centre & call routing — IVR menus, ring groups, queues, call recording, voicemail-to-email, and the routing logic that gets callers to the right person fast.
- On-premise & self-hosted VoIP — Asterisk and FreePBX builds for teams that need full control, on-site, for cost or compliance reasons.
- Network readiness & call-quality engineering — QoS, bandwidth sizing, and jitter/latency tuning so VoIP sounds as good as a landline — usually better.
- Desk phones, softphones & headsets — Polycom, Yealink, and Cisco handsets provisioned zero-touch, plus mobile and desktop softphones for a hybrid team.
- Senior-only delivery. A communications engineer who has run voice at scale owns the deployment — not a junior running a provider's setup wizard and hoping QoS sorts itself out.
- Zero-downtime number porting. Porting is the part everyone gets wrong. We stage it carefully so your numbers keep ringing throughout — no missed calls, no dead lines.
- Call quality engineered, not assumed. Most "VoIP sounds bad" problems are network problems: no QoS, undersized bandwidth, the wrong codec. We fix the network so the calls hold up under load.
- Provider-agnostic. RingCentral, 3CX, Teams Phone, Twilio, self-hosted Asterisk — we recommend by fit and total cost, not by which provider pays the best referral. No margin shaping the answer.
- Built for hybrid work. One number rings your desk, laptop, and mobile. Your team takes business calls anywhere without giving out a personal number.
- Integrated with your tools. Click-to-dial from your CRM, call logging in your help desk, presence synced with Teams or Slack — the phone system stops being an island.
- Stay-on support. Most clients keep us on a support retainer for moves/adds/changes, new-hire provisioning, and the rare time something needs a senior hand.
- Cloud platforms: RingCentral, 3CX, Microsoft Teams Phone, Zoom Phone, Dialpad, Nextiva.
- CPaaS & programmable voice: Twilio, Vonage, Telnyx for custom call flows and app-integrated voice.
- Self-hosted PBX: Asterisk, FreePBX, FusionPBX, Issabel for on-premise and private-cloud builds.
- SIP & trunking: SIP trunk providers, SBC configuration, secure SIP (TLS/SRTP), and least-cost routing.
- Handsets & endpoints: Polycom, Yealink, Cisco, Grandstream desk phones; softphones and WebRTC for browser calling.
- Network: QoS on managed switches, VLAN voice separation, firewall and SBC tuning, bandwidth engineering.
- Integrations: CRM click-to-dial (Salesforce, HubSpot), help-desk call logging, Teams / Slack presence.
- VoIP deployment — $5k–$40k one-time, depending on user count, sites, and call-flow complexity. Provider setup, porting, devices, and network readiness included.
- SIP trunking project — $4k–$20k. Connecting an existing PBX to the cloud and cutting line costs.
- Self-hosted PBX build — $15k–$60k. Asterisk or FreePBX with custom call flows, on-prem or private cloud.
- Network readiness & remediation — $3k–$15k. QoS, bandwidth, and switch/firewall tuning for reliable voice.
- Managed VoIP support — monthly retainer, from $1.5k. Moves/adds/changes, onboarding, and senior escalation.

04 — Common questions
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a VoIP phone system cost?
A typical VoIP deployment from SimplyRem runs $5,000–$40,000 one-time depending on user count, number of sites, devices, and call-flow complexity, plus the provider's per-user monthly licensing (usually $15–$35 per user). SIP trunking projects start around $4,000, and self-hosted Asterisk / FreePBX builds run $15,000–$60,000. Most businesses save money versus traditional phone lines within the first year.
Will we lose our phone numbers when we switch to VoIP?
No. Number porting moves your existing business numbers to the new VoIP system, and we stage it so your old lines keep working until the new system is proven. Done properly, the cut-over is seamless — customers keep reaching the same numbers, and there is no window where calls go to a dead line.
Why does VoIP sometimes sound choppy, and can you prevent it?
Almost always, yes. Choppy or dropped VoIP calls are network problems, not VoIP problems — usually missing QoS, undersized bandwidth, a misconfigured firewall, or the wrong codec. We test your network for VoIP readiness before deployment, separate voice traffic onto its own VLAN with QoS priority, and tune codecs so calls hold up even when the network is busy.
Cloud VoIP, SIP trunking, or self-hosted — which is right for us?
We are provider-agnostic and will tell you honestly. Cloud VoIP / hosted PBX (RingCentral, 3CX, Teams Phone) suits almost every small and mid-sized business — no hardware, predictable pricing. SIP trunking suits teams with a recent on-prem PBX that just want lower line costs. Self-hosted Asterisk or FreePBX suits teams needing full control or custom call flows. Most clients land on cloud VoIP — we will say when another option saves you money.
Can our team take business calls on their mobiles and laptops?
Yes — that is one of the biggest advantages of VoIP. One business number can ring your desk phone, a desktop softphone, and a mobile app simultaneously, so your team takes and makes business calls anywhere without giving out a personal number. It is built for hybrid and remote work.
Can VoIP integrate with Microsoft Teams or our CRM?
Yes. We deploy Microsoft Teams Phone so calling lives right inside Teams, and we integrate VoIP with CRMs like Salesforce and HubSpot for click-to-dial and automatic call logging, plus help-desk and presence sync with Slack. The phone system stops being a separate island and becomes part of how your team already works.
How long does it take to set up a business VoIP system?
A straightforward cloud VoIP deployment takes one to three weeks including network readiness, configuration, and device setup. The long pole is usually number porting, which the carriers control and which typically takes one to four weeks — we stage the cut-over around it so there is no service interruption while ports complete.
Do you provide ongoing support after the phone system is live?
Yes. Most clients keep us on a managed VoIP support retainer covering moves/adds/changes, new-hire provisioning, call-flow adjustments, and senior escalation when something needs a real engineer. Phone systems evolve as teams grow — a retainer keeps yours current without spinning up a project every time something changes.
